The Speed of Success
I just read about a Harvard Business School study which identified traits of high achievers. Even above the expected intelligence, education and attitude came Speed of Implementation. I find facts like this exciting because how fun is it to make a decision and then carry it out immediately? How thrilling is it to make things happen? And if all goes according to plan, how wonderful is it to succeed? Even if some efforts fail, it's still fun to try - more fun than sitting around wondering what to do, or whether to do something, or wishing you could do something other than whatever you ARE doing. I also enjoyed reading this because of something I did last week. I registered MeritPatch.com, designed up all the preliminary stuff I could, created a Facebook page for it, connected that to a Twitter account, scripted up some entertaining videos I hope to begin shooting or at least scheduling today, and ordered the first patch. Now let's hope all goes well and the site brings some good financial returns. I decided to write this post 4 minutes ago. How about practicing making a quick decision and acting on it today? See how you like it. I'd love to hear how it went.
